2021 Honda Accord Updated Styling, Features and New Trim
The award-winning Honda Accord continues to impress! The 2021 Accord will offer updated styling elements, new features and an all-new Special Edition trim. The Accord is regarded by many experts as the gold standard in mid-sized sedans due to its advanced safety features, terrific handling, styling and technology. The 2021 model ensures the Accord’s evolution stays on a strong trajectory!
“The new Honda Accord Hybrid is really the Accord to buy, offering customers more of everything they like about Accord — more power, refinement and, of course, excellent fuel economy ratings,” Dave Gardner, Executive Vice President of National Operations at American Honda.
The 2018 Accord redesign was bold and unprecedented. The 2021 version builds on the 10th generation’s unique athletic appeal with a wider redesigned front grille, new LED high and low beam headlights (Sport Trim and above), smaller fog light openings, and a new alloy wheel design for all trim levels. A new Sonic Grey Pearl color will also be available for Sport, Sport Special Edition and Touring trims.
On the inside, an 8″ Display Audio touchscreen entertainment system will be standard for all trim levels, as will Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. EX-L and Touring Trims will get new wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. This wireless set up will free up a USB port by eliminating the need to manually connect your phone with the cord. Sport and higher trims (EX and higher trims for Accord Hybrid) will now include dual 2.5-volt USB ports for your passengers in the back. All 2021 Honda Accord trim levels will include the Rear Seat Reminder feature as standard. If activated, the Rear Seat Reminder will set of an audio and visual alert to check the back seats.
The 2021 Accord Hybrid
Enhancements to the 2021 Accord Hybrid include engine improvements that produce a “more direct and immediate throttle response with a more natural feeling as engine revs climb in concert with the driver’s throttle input”. The new Accord Hybrid will generate an impressive 212 horsepower and peak torque delivery of 232 lb-ft. The Accord Hybrid boasts the most power and torque in its class, with a top fuel economy rating of 48 mpg (1). On the exterior, the Accord Hybrid features the new styling elements of the 2021 redesign plus a blue H-mark on the grille and Hybrid badges on the front fenders and trunk lid. The 2021 Accord Hybrid Touring trim also features 19-inch wheels.
New Sport Special Edition Trim
This new trim level will replace the Accord EX 1.5T. It will feature everything in the EX 1.5T with additional enhancements such as heated leather seats, a 4-way passenger seat, a 12-way power driver’s seat, heated mirrors, Smart Entry, and remote engine start.
Safety and Driver-Assistive Technologies
The Rear Seat Reminder and Rear Seatbelt Reminder will be standard on all 2021 Accord trim levels. The Touring and Hybrid Touring trims will feature a new innovating front and rear braking system called Low Speed Braking Control. This system uses sonar to sense objects at low speeds (such as when parking) and warn the driver to help avoid a collision. The Honda Sensing® suite of driver-assist technologies features enhancements to Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS). ACC will now offer smoother braking when following another vehicle, and LKAS offers “more effective and natural lane centering.”
