2017 CR-V Earns Top Safety Rating from IIHS

The all-new, completely redesigned 2017 Honda CR-V represents the 4th 2017 model year Honda to earn a 2017 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK+ Rating*. It now joins the 2017 Accord, Pilot and Ridgeline in this prestigious posse of safety superiority.  (You may remember that the 2017 Honda Ridgeline made IIHS history a few months ago, being the first pickup truck to earn a TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation from the IIHS).

To earn the desirable “plus” title, a vehicle must generate high marks on the challenging small overlap front cash test as well as the moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. The 2017 CR-V proved its mettle, earning a “GOOD” rating across all of these tests.  This high rating is only achievable with vehicles that earn an “ADVANCED” or “SUPERIOR” rating for their frontal crash prevention system. The available Honda Sensing™ technology allowed the CR-V to earn a top “SUPERIOR” rating in this category.

Hondas are renowned for their safety, and whichever trim level you choose, you’ll enjoy an extensive selection of active and passive safety features. The Honda Sensing™ Suite is standard on the 2017 CR-V EX and higher trim levels, and offers the full gamut of driver assistive technologies; Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Working in unison, this suite keeps an unwavering eye on the road to keep you and your passengers safe.

Even on the base trim level, you’ll get amazing standard technology such as Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with Traction Control, Brake Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Multi-Angle Rearview Camera, Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) Body Structure, a sophisticated airbag system and more. * The 2017 CR-V, Ridgeline and Pilot with Honda Sensing™ and LED headlights, and the 2017 Accord Sedan with Honda Sensing™ and projector beam halogen headlights have been awarded the coveted 2017 TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in recognition of their superior crash safety performance.
